[Scene: East 52nd Street is quiet and calm early on Saturday morning.  Cast members arrive one by one to enjoy some conversation and coffee together as they wait for Con Edison to arrive. Con Edison had plans on digging up the street and sidewalk in order to install gas lines which would run into the apartment house.  WK has been urging Con Ed to do this work for some time now & has told people he was going to send extra security just in case the striking cast members tried to interfere.]

Modern Staffing security didn’t show up on Saturday as WK promised – but resident cast members already knew that #1.,  WK wouldn’t actually spend the money to pay for them and #2.,   he is essentially incapable of telling the truth.   But cast members and our striking doormen arrived at the set between 6:00 & 7:00 to make sure cars were not towed and to inform the Con Ed workers about the strike.

WK rose early too on Saturday.  He called the lobby & staff  at least  20 times before 7:30 am –  wanting to know every detail of today’s East 52nd Street Reality Show episode.

A car had been parked outside – legally – but blocking access for Con Ed and BK was fuming.  He actually called the NYPD.  Around 7:45 am  the police showed up, visibly agitated from the petty request, and asked for the owner of the car which was blocking access for Con Ed.   The owner willingly moved the car because all of the striking cast members were there to stand in the access spot.  Before leaving the scene, the cops said to the super,  “tell your boss we’re not his personal assistants.”

After the cops left, the Con Ed guys who had arrived with their huge earth-mover truck & witnessed the show segment,  told our guys that they were not going to cause them any grief or cross the picket line and then packed up the earth-mover & went home!
